Just my $.02
You have a 2008. This bike has oxygen sensors. These provide feedback to the computer as to what is happening in your engine concerning fuel mixture. The factory setting of 14.7% air to fuel is quite lean but is not damaging (EPA requirement). Changing pipes or air cleaner adds more air to the mixture. The O2 sensors pick this up and the computer will adjust the mixture back to 14.7 AFR under most conditions. This is called "Closed Loop" operation.

If your throttle is more than about 80% open or your engine is over 4,000 RPMs, the O2 sensors are ignored and the mixture will be determined by a pre-programmed "Map". This is referred to as "Open Loop".

Many people like to change what the EPA allowed us to have and others are quite happy with the stock performance. It just depends on how you intend to ride.

Bottom line:
If you add the air cleaner and pipes, you do not need to re-tune. You will cause no damage unless you are constantly in open loop. If you wish for getting the most out of your engine, then by all means get a tuner. Just study the subject until you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it.
