I ride my bike pretty hard and never experienced a Rev limit experience,
what happens when it happens?
I can max my bike out but never get any misfire like my Expedition does at 100 missing and all.
With no tach it's hard to tell the numbers but ***** out should cover it.
You can't possibly be riding that hard if you've never bumped into the limiter.
All that happens is the EFI cuts fuel and the engine speed slows. You feel the engine start to loose power just before it happens, and that's your cue to clutch it and shift up.
I hit the rev limited at least once a week on my 2011 Street Bob.I am seriously looking for a tach. It is my third Harley and I have been MC licensed for 27 years. The bikes I owned/rode prior to my first HD were quicker than your average HD. My first HD was. 2003 VROD and it was fast enough. I wanted something more old school so I got a 88 CI Night Train. It was nice but too slow for my taste. I then bought my 96 CI Street Bob. It is quicker and more nimble than the Train, but it still needs more torque. I am starting small because of my budget. The stage 1 parts are on the way. I eventually want the 110 CI big bore kit.
I just had a new speedo/tach installed in my 2011 Dyna Super Glide. I has a redline on the tach at 5500 and yesterday I hit the rev limiter at around 5K.
