Alright fellas, I have read and even contributed to some of the posts on how to remove emblems and reflectors. My question is how long is too long to wait before removing your tank badges? I picked up my bob in May of this year and one of my first projects was going to be removing the HD emblems from the tank. Well, silly me, I got too busy actually riding it to mess with them. So have I waited too long or should I still be OK to remove them? I'm just concerned that the tape may have set up for too long or the posibility of the paint being darker under the emblem.

If its black denim, you MAY see a difference. I took mine off after 3-4 months of it sitting out in the hot sun all day and could see just the slightest evidence of fading...
Take them off, the worst that could happen is that you may have to get some more double sided adhesive strip or tape to reinstall if you think that there is a noticable difference.
I don't think it would make any difference how long...unless the bike is constantly sitting in the sun and you think the paint may have faded...I doubt that would happen in 10 months. As for the double sided tape...it doesn't become more or less adhesive over time...at least from what I've seen. I've removed emblems from a couple old bikes as well as a couple cars...never once had a problem...whether I did it immediately, or long after I purchased.
