Question V+H Short shot installation help

I am going to install new pipes tomorrow, have been reading the instruction tonight, everything is straight forward. When I took the stock pipes off this afternoon, I remember there is a mounting bracket under the engine, do I have to remove that? It doesn't look like I need it for the new pipes, does anyone know? Thanks Alex

I still have that bracket on. I haven't had the urge to remove it yet, but I will eventually. It's fine leaving it there, but looks better gone.

Thx! The 3 mounting bolts are so close to the frame, a socket won't fit in there. I try to find a way to remove them or leave it there.

Yes that's why I haven't touched mine yet. We'll probably have to loosen the front motor mount and use a car jack to raise the motor to get in there.

Just leave it. The trouble it would cause you to remove it is so not worth it.

I managed to take it off, use a small torx bit with a wrench, I told myself if I stripe it, will just leave it there. Thanks very much guys, will post pictures and video soon.

I've been wanting to remove mine as well but it looked like a pain to get in there. I was going to try to cut down a torx wrench to slip in there but I haven't done it yet. Good to hear you were able to get yours done.

I heard that you gain 8HP if you were to remove it. I might try the mod this weekend, lol.

Hey Beavis rules : Sounds like something my mechanic would say to me just to see if I would buy it LOL...but then again ive known him as a friend for 15 years and he give me tons of s@@t. If it really does make a difference id love to hear about it. Im about to do the same mods to my bike too. Looks like the short shots are popular.
