So, for the past 2 weeks my 2007 Nissan Titan has been setting in the driveway untouched. And before that it probably sat a few more weeks without being touched.
Anywhere i need to go I take the bike or if its somewhere a car is a must we take my wifes 2010 Nissan Rogue.
So, whats the point of me paying $400 a month for something i RARELY use or enjoy?
So, Yesterday i washed and waxed and cleaned up the truck (seeing it look so good almost made me decide to keep it) and this morning i posted it on Craigslist....
For the rest of the summer it will be bike only. If i sell it I will use what I make and put it in the bank and then save up the $400 a month i would be using for payment and probably around October i might buy me an older Jeep Wranger to play in or when i need a cage....
But i have to admit, im kinda looking forward to being DYNA only for transportation... And im really looking forward to that extra $400 a month..... (wonder how much a road king would cost per month)
I'm assuming the weather where you are allows for that. I've yet to take me bike to work for a full week yet because of rain (or snow). It's raining right now, again.....
Living in Mississippi right now so weather isnt much of a factor. If i do move it will be back to Texas which makes it even less of a factor.
Riding season here is 12 months a year.
Plus if i needed transportation to work, i go to work before my wife does and get off later than she does, so she could be my chauffer if needed on certain weather days!
I'm just starting to think about doing the same thing... I use my car MAYBE once every 10 days.. With a payment of $290 a month plus insurance, that equals more than $30 per use.. The Dyna IS my main form of transportation!! :-)

i ride my bike almost everyday all year round. rain, snow, hail, sunshine - doesn't matter.
lately here it storms 5 days a week, but a little water never bothered me.
5-6 months out of the year, i don't see a single other bike on the road here.
All I have is my bike. I'll ride home in rain. But not to work, it's only a few miles away so I catch a ride if it's nasty first thing in the morning. Gave my truk to my brother
I haven't had a car in 5 years. Got my wife a new car back in 04' and then my Sporty back in 06' and sold the T-Bird. When I wrecked the sporty last spring I thought car? Truck? Bike? So I got my Street Bob, who needs a cage....good thought until winter gets here and I have to make the 40min commute while freezing my *** off. I think, man I really need a cage and the spring gets here and I loose that thought. I will be seeing it again come November!

RIGHT ON!!!!! Note: to avoid freezing your *** off, buy some 'serious' winter riding gear; in other words nothing with the Harley logo on it...
