Going to the next level and would like input. Have my 2009 FXDF Fat Bob that currently has the SE Increased Air Flow cleaner, Thunderheader pipe, and PCV with Autotune. Am currently running the map from Dynojet for the TH w/ 103" jugs and SE 255 cam for the AFR targets, though I had to lean those a out a bit. (Good luck finding a map for my set-up).
So now I have the 103" kit, haven't put it on yet, but happened to run across the new Powervision as I was considering the new HD SE Pro tuner (or whatever they call it now). Cost is going to be about the same, which tipped me towards the Powervision, but then saw the lack of a map specific to my set-up, so am back to considering the HD tuner.
Prefer the Powervision, but here's why I'm a little snakebit. When I did all this in March, Thunderheader was beginning to offer maps. Once I had the pipe and the PCV, I called them with a problem getting the maps to download. They said they turned all that over to Dynojet as DJ had a more extensive catalog/library of dyno runs. No worries, they make pipes, not air/fuel management systems.
So DJ ran me in circles trying to get a specific map. Talked to three different guys and got three different map recommendations. After two weeks of that, finally just broke down and bought the Autotuner. That helped, but was a bit burned that the "advice" I got was to take it in and pay to have it dyno'ed. Understandable, but I thought I was buying the PCV with the Autotuner so I don't need to do that.
Bottom line, I can have it dyno'ed, but don't want to be tied to the dealership. So I can go with the HD SE Pro and have them hit it, or I can go with the Powervision and play pin the tail on donkey again, or just have it dyno'ed also.
If you buy the PV from FuelMoto they will likely have a map that's close. Your AT hardware from your PCV will work with the PV unit so you can use it to tune your whole map without ever getting on a Dyno or going to a dealer. The tuner software is new, and they are still working out the kinks, but I have high hopes that it will smooth out soon. B.T.W. you can also import you maps from the PCV into the PV.
