I am changing the primary lubricant, and I have a silly question. How do I know if my 2011 FXDC is a wet system or dry? To know the right amount of lubricant to put in the primary, I need to make that distinction according to the service manual and owners manual, and there is roughly 1/3 difference between the two systems.
I went with wet system for now, since my inner logic tells me the clutch is in there with the lubricant, therefore it must be "wet" ... and I can always add another 8oz if it turns out I'm a dry system.
And if I have a wet system, which 2011 Dyna's have a dry one?
Put 32oz in the there, that's all you need, I don't even check if the fluid covers the clutch or not lol. I think your clutch is wet, I don't remember seeing any Harley with stock dry clutch except primo primary drive system, correct me if I am wrong.
It's probably like changing the oil in the engine. A new engine that has never had oil in the system takes 3 qts where an engine that has been run takes 2 1/2. It accounts for the residual oil.

This is what they're talking about. Use the wet figures.
