I just did mine, i went with 16 inch gimp. I found that there was alot of wire inside the frame, i didnt have to extend my wires at all. I just cut them, fed them through my bars and then reconected them and stuffed them back into the neck. It was actually pretty simple.

Well that's a different thing altogether. If you're going to get in there and change out your switches and stuff, I don't think I can offer much help. I don't know what would be easier - getting a whole new switch/harness setup (and what length??) or just soldering in new switches and extending them to accomodate the apes. I have seen internally prewired apes complete with chrome housings and switches on eBay. That might be a consideration for you.

If you choose to keep the stock housing and just bump up to apes, get the 8 inch extension from the link I posted so you'll have plenty of slack in case you ever decide to go higher.

Just cut and extend them yourself I did on my 18's in a bout an hour all the wires are different colors so its foolproof just spend the money and buy the heat shrink connectors and take your time and do it right the first time because if you have internal woring you have to cut them anyhow why pay some company 50 bucks when you can spend less the 20 and have money for beer lol.
