FEDex says my new Wide Glide tins are somewhere within 30 miles of my house and should be delivered today
My plan is to do the swap this weekend. Bike is a 2002 Wide Glide and carbureted, so I won't have to deal with FI. I'm pretty handy, having rebuilt engines on motorcycles and cars in the past. The bike has 20k miles on it.
Any tips / tricks for doing the swap?
Anything I should check for while I have the tins off?
What's the hardest part about doing a tin swap on a WG?
Anything special I should get to do the job outside of the requisite loctite and hose clamps?
I used a suggestion from this site when I put my fender on. Take a manila folder and put it between your strut and the painted fender while you get it lined up. Then you can slide the folder out and not have to worry about sliding your paint across the metal struts.

Thanks! That's a great idea!
Almost as good of an idea as making sure I have enough beer to get the job done!
