Hello all,
I was wondering if you guys could post some storage solutions for 2008 Dyna . I have Dyna lowrider and wanted to see what others have installed to carry bags and other items along for the ride.
I tried several set ups. The best I've found so far is the factory detachable leather bags with a solo rack. The bags have plenty of space for what I commute to work with which is about 3 days worth of clothing and toiletries. The rack gives me the option of strapping on more stuff if I need along with a pillion pad that fits on it to carry a passenger, which by the way is reported to be very comfortable.
I just purchased a Saddlemen Deluxe Cruiser Tail Bag. I packed 3 days worth of gear and plenty of space left. It fits right over the rear seat. It's a great bag, especially for only $100!
I bought quick release brackets so I can take the bags on and off in a couple seconds. I have edge brackets but would strongly recommend getting EZ brackets.
With quick release brackets you can mount any saddlebag you like. Most people prefer slanted saddlebags as they flow better with the Dyna's suspension, but its not a requirement by any means.
I had a tack maker make up saddlebags for me since putting catalog parts on my bike goes against my thought process, but theres a ton of really nice bag manufactures out there. Willie and Max is a site sponsor, so is US saddlebags.
