Hey guys,
Not looking to do a complete over haul of my engine, but was thinking maybe throwing and different cam in her. The bike run great know, but was thinking of doing a little work to the engine to get better performance. I am not looking to drop a lot of $$$. What are some suggestions?
Have a 3 angle valve job on the heads and chuck in some 204 cams although I think they would have to be 255's in an injected motor. Make sure you have decent exhaust and a power commander or simliar and go have fun :-)
Cams are probably your best bang for your buck! As long as you have pipes & intake done already you should be around low-mid 80's hp & mid-upper 90's tq with a good tune. Just make sure you research cams and pick one for your riding style cause it's not about dyno #'s it's all about the torque curve!
Cams were the best upgrade I did to my street bob. I did the pipes, intake, SESTP, and then I went with andrews 48H cams and my bike rides completly different. I love it. The dyno numbers are in my signiture. With the 48H the power is all in the low and mid range so the bike accelerates great and passes on the freeway with no problems.
Thanks for the info. I have V&H short shots, Arlen Ness big sucker, and a PCV. If I change the cams do I need to do anything else engine wise other then a tune?

A cam only upgrade is about the cheapest and easiest upgrade you can do. The Andrews 48H or the SE204 are great cam only upgrades for the otherwise stock 96" motor. Just did the 48H in a friends '10 Fatboy and he is over the moon about the performance. Also an opportunity to replace the inner cam bearings with Torrington B168s. You will need a tuner and a tune with a cam upgrade.
