Default Spoked Wheel Powdercoat Options Poll

Ok I'm getting ready to order a set of wheels and I'm leaning toward the third option but I thought I'd get some of your guys feedback. I wanted some RSD wheels but they are way out of the budget so going with a set of 60 spokes with a 21x3.5 up front and a 18x5.5 out back.

Here are the options:
1. Gloss black hub, rim, and spokes with SS nipples
2. Satin black hub, rim, and spokes with SS nipples
3. Satin black hub and rim, gloss black spokes, SS nipples
4. Gloss black hub and rim, satin black spokes, SS nipples
5. Satin black hub and rim, SS spokes and nipples
6. Gloss black hub and rim, SS spokes and nipples

to be flat out honest... i would do satin black rim and hub (with gloss black ralley stripe on the lip of the wheel), with gloss black nipples and spokes... doing the nipples in SS and the spokes a color is 3 colors on a rim, that is alot going on for a spoke wheel as well as it kind of looks like an after thought... i think a flat(or satin) rim and hub with the gloss black stripe to tie in the gloss black spokes and rest of powder work would be subtle and really pop... if you had the bike in my shop right now that is what i would recomend.

I thought about powdering the nipples as well. It adds about $60 a wheel is all. However, I was thinking the SS nipples would flow with the rest of the contrast cut stuff on my bike since nothing is a solid black. I like your idea too though and I see what you mean about the three different colors. Hmmm....

Here is an example of the satin hub and rim, gloss spokes and SS nipples.

I thought about it but I can't get past the stock harley hub on the front wheel...just too clunky for me. Plus I'm getting the wheels shipped for right at $1K so by the time I sell my stockers I don't know if it's worth it to buy a hub, delace, powder, and relace plus all the down time. I can drop these and tires off to be mounted and pick them up same day and swap them in an hour in the garage.

I think whatever you get is gonna look awesome. Out of your choices though, I would go with gloss black for the rims, hubs, and spokes with ss nipples. I think they would tie in better if they matched your front end and frame. The ss nipples will tie in with the contrast cut finishes you have.

I voted the last option. Reason, I don't like colored spokes(never have, probably never will and it looks more old school) and they will go good with the metal parts of the engine and air cleaner Gloss black hubs and rims will match the frame and fork sliders and be easier to keep clean. That's just my 2 cents.

I went with #2 but I think 1, 2, 3, or 4 are fine. From a distance, they'll all look the same. I always liked your ride, keep up the good work.

I kept my gloss black rim and painted my spokes white (and left the nipples SS). I keep trying to talk myself into painting the nipples red, green or dark blue. I might pull it all and go black rims and spokes with white nipples (to preserve my black and white theme).
