Default engine mounts

What is the best way to tell if the rear and front engine mounts are still good or going bad?

you can typically look at the front and tell if it is shot, push on the motor if it moves the front is shot. really the only way to check the rear is either a bump it will feel like the motor moves when your rear tire goes over or when your motor is out if your trans moves around.

If the front one is really bad it will make a clank going over a bump, might even hit the front pipe on the frame downtube.

I've been told that if the rear one is bad the rear tire won't stay vertical if you lift the bike. It will tilt slightly. Don't know if that is true but it was a dealership that told me that.

The swing arm attaches to the rear of the tranny. The tranny is supported by the mount.
