Alrighty boys and girls, I just got my first HD and figured I'd go bigger rather than smaller and got a 2011 White Denim Fat Bob.
I want a louder exhaust on it, but its so hard to tell on YouTube videos how it actually sounds so I need some assistance. I think I have narrowed it down to the V&H Big Shots Staggered in black, but would like some opinions from Fat Bob guys who have them installed.
I dont want to blow doors off with the exhaust, just want a louder rumble, let people know im around type thing.
I used Cycle Shack baffles. Basically, swap stock baffles for CS baffles and the sound is pretty good. Can't beat the price either ($50 after it was all said and done). There is a thread in the Dyna forum I think.
I have the Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered in black with the VnH air cleaner and fuel pak. One nice big happy package. The sound is throaty but mild until you really get in it, then it's right where it needs to be. The bottom end power increased noticeably, especially in 1st and 2nd gear. Better hold on. I have pics and youtube link if you click on my page in my sig below. The video was taken by my kid so its a little shaky and LONG, but scroll to the end and you can hear it running.
I have the big shots in chrome. Sounds great. WHen crusing the sound is mellow, but when you get on it it barks. Your right, you really need to hear exhausts in person. I was going to buy the rush full exhuast system because of price. I heard them on utube and it sounded good. When i heard themin person, to me not so good. So i bought the big shots in chrome. Found them on Dennis Kirk on sale for 404 with free shipping.
cause if he's like me,he got a huge discount on a '11 because the dealers are blowing them out to make room for the '12's. and for slightly more torque i'll just do a stage one instead.
