installing a V&H HO propipe on my 2011 street bob...the ends of the header tubes are square for lack of a better word, as opposed to the stock tapered pipe. the V&H tubes are the same OD as the stock exhaust gaskets...i removed the gaskets and test fitted the V&H pipes with no gaskets and it seems to fit snug...is this pipe designed to run a gasket? if so which one? thanks
Resist the temptation to run the pipes without gaskets - leaks are guaranteed and the hard steel pipe torqued against the softer aluminum alloy head will probably cause damage you really don't want.
If the Pro Pipe won't seat properly with the std HD tapered exh gaskets then try the SE flat ring gaskets (#17048-98). Hope it works out for you.

im definitely set on using gaskets....in reading up in the Touring forum, almost everyone says the SE or Cometic flat seals leak? are they thinner than the OE gaskets? because with the OE gasket the pipes sit basically outside of the cylinder....maybe 1/16' in...doesnt seem right at all
Ditto on the SE gaskets, especially with a square exhaust flange. They worked great on my Bub 7, no leaks even after reusing the same gaskets once. PPL diss the SE gaskets, personally I wouldnt use them with a tapered flange.
