Default I like..............

I like my Switchback - that is, my Fat Boy Lo with detachable saddle bags, detachable backrest and luggage rack and luggage rack travel bag, all taken off or put back on in under 10 minutes! Nice!

That being said, I did recently sell my FXDF Dyna Fat Bob, and she rocked! And there were always those that said, "what's up with the 2 headlights," and "what's up with the Bobtail Fender?" Ughhhh! Anyway, like I said, she rocked and I do miss her! So, the motto of the story is, ride what you want, ride what makes you happy, and well, above all else, just %&^*$%@ ride what you got!

FB, I like your plan and it makes sense to finance your purchase with the stock ones if you don't plan on using them. How long before we can see a picture of the finished product.
Right now it looks like our weather is breaking and I might be able to get some more riding in. It's not very often I can say that in February around here.

On the bags...I'm waiting for ironbags to build them. They need a donor bike and no one is biting. I even made a thread for it. They are in Eu Clair Wisconsin, I don't know where that is, but if a FLD owner would take their bike there, they would get a free set for allowing them to proto-type it.

They will be utilizing and integrating our docking points so it will be same same quick release. Problem is, they can't start either until they get a donor. I even offered to ship them mine but they said they needed the bike. So waiting there.

On the rack, I'm having micky cohen make it up for me but talked with him today and he hasn't started it yet. I still have to get it back to him too for my final dyno but waiting on the new PCV to get there. None and I dropped original rack off to his shop last Sat. I don't know if you saw the post but mrnone found a brand new panhead duo-glide rack for me and that's what cohen is going to mod. I'm not using the reg. fld sissy bar brackets, you know those big plates? I'm having cohen make it look just like the duo-glide from the side, so that's what he has to mod and of course using the fld latches too on it.
Soooo, I'm waiting too.

Here's a pic of the rack that I'm swiping from a post surfor chop made earlier:

I would never own it, but it seems a lot of women up in this area are picking it up. More power to them.

FB

Although I am partial to the stock bags, if I were to go with leather bags, I'd probably go with Boss Bags' Springer Heritage reproduction bags (#37) ...

IIRC those bags are about as voluminous as there are after the standard Touring bags ...

I'd like to see how those look on a Dyna (in particular, a FL Dyna) ...

I think that's about an 8 hour drive from where I live and I would consider going there for the free bags if I was interested in a bigger bag. But maybe I should since you're swapping yours to the bigger ones and there's so much talk about the Switchback bags being too small. I'm starting to get a little complex about them. Question: Do these little Switchback saddle bags make my **** look big?
