Angry Thumbs Down to Custom Dynamics!

Hey guys- just a heads up, I am sure some people haven't had problems- but my first (AND LAST!) experience with Custom Dynamics was nothing short of PATHETIC. Just a heads up for anyone wanting to do business with these clowns.

Here is what happened...

I ordered their LED illuminated horizontal license plate frame. When it arrived, I noticed that it was an extremely poorly designed piece. Basically the wire exits the rear of the plate and has to be pinched very tight when mounting the license plate. Sure, I could have hacked it with a dremel to make a wire lay a bit better, but... WHY would I need to hack up a license plate I purchased? So I installed it as it was intended, especially since the instructions did not indicate a need to modify/cut the plate itself.

Installed the plate, and immediately the tiny wires popped off the back of the plate. The way it is designed, there was NO way to re-solder the wires back on.. hard to explain, but it just cannot happen. Either way, it is one of the poorest designed pieces I have ever seen sold in the aftermarket - and trust me, I have bought a LOT of aftermarket parts!

So what did I do?

I went on their Facebook fan page and simply posted my experience and I felt it was a poorly designed piece and now it is a $35 piece of unusable metal.

I check this morning, the post has been deleted and I am BANNED from their Facebook page... How unprofessional and PATHETIC a company would do this. Not even a message, email, etc addressing the issue.. just deleted my message and blocked me.. basically an F-You to a paying customer.

I will NEVER buy another product from this company again... they could have easily addressed the issue in a professional way, even if they didn't want to replace it- which I didn't even request.

Whatever your opinion of Custom Dynamics is - In my opinion do not buy their LED license plate frame, unbelievable they could sell something as poorly designed as this. Also good luck getting any support after buying product, they obviously could care less about you after taking your money!

Well, if there was an upgraded $70 one I would have bought it, thats all they offered. I have bought $5 products that were higher quality (and usable) -- the price is a non-issue right? Its about selling a product and standing behind it- whether it is $5, $10, $35, or $35,000

Point is their customer service sucks- I don't even care if the product was complete junk, I was ready to just chalk it up as a loss and find something better- but the fact they just ignored it shows me something about the entire company which is why I posted here. Glad it only cost me $35 to realize what a piece of junk company they are, glad they won't be getting any more of my business.

you posted on their facebook page, did you contact them first about making good???

if you didnt its kind of like putting the cart before the horse. first thing to do would be contact them with the problem and give them the opportunity to make it right.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you should have contacted their customer service folks before posting on Facebook. Just saying. Granted, they could have taken the opportunity to try and correct the situation, instead of deleting and banning. I've done business with them on 2 occasions, and have had excellent results with their service and products.

So instead of contacting them to see if they would make it right... which they would have, their customer service is first-rate... you went on Facebook to whine about their crappy product. YOU are the one who is unprofessional. Sorry, no sympathy for you here.

Your damn right I called them out for having a crappy product. I am unprofessional for calling out a product that is junk? Huh? Happens all the time, I have only called out a couple products maybe twice in a few years, last time being when I posted on a FB page and a customer service rep promptly messaged me and took care of business.

Thats cool if you think complaining to a company is "unprofessional" when they sell you junk- and them completely ignoring that complaint no matter what medium you use to tell them.

Whether I call them, email them, post on Facebook, etc - ITS THE SAME THING.. I contacted them before posting here, right? THAT would have been unprofessional.

If you ever run into the same situation and get a crap product and contact the company about it and then they ignore/delete it than I hope you are ok with that- I am not, thats for sure.

You were right to call out a crappy product, but not the way you did it. Posting on Facebook is NOT the same as contacting the company. Go to CD's website and click on the CONTACT link. I don't think you'll find a Facebook button there.
