Anyone know if the stck HD tire is warrentied? If so how many miles? I do alot of fast corner riding and twisty roads and I am still sitting on a tyre that's worn out at only 4600 miles. WTF?? I really want to buy a set of Super venoms but haven't got the money as of yet. I figuered I had plenty of time before this one ran down to the tread indicators. Let me know if I can stick this one back to Harley. Oh yeah no burnouts either.
Well I do remember the dealer giving me a warranty sheet on my Dunlop tires but with that many miles your just gonna be outta luck. If I remember correctly they are only warrantied against defects but not against wear. I managed to get appx 6400 on mine, but some get less and some get more.
I'm pretty easy on my tire and only got 7,700 miles out of mine. If you ride hard it wears fast. If you go with a better performance tire it will probably wear just as fast because the compound is softer. I went with a dunlop d205, 160 70 17 which is a crotch rocket touring tire. It's z rated and a radial, and made a HUGE difference around corners, and only cost $107 mounted and balanced at the crotch rocket shop.
3300? WOW what a rip off....more money in the moco's pockets i guess. Also can you throw a 180mm rear on the stock setup of the Superglide '06? without any mods I've heard this is possible. just curious and if so what are the tire specs you are running as far as size and how does it perform? Thax for the help.

I've said this b4 and I'm gonna throw it out there again but I cannot figure out what you are all doing different that am that is wearing out your tires so fast. I have 5700 and a bit and it still have at least that and then probably some left in it. I spent all summer in San Antonio riding and I even did a cpl BIG time burnouts at the ROT rally. I know you'll all call me out on it so I included pics. Maybe your air pressure do ya'll keep up with it?

Thanks for pointing this tire out. I would definitely consider running this Dunlop: 160/70ZR17

if I can get the same deal you did. Notice it has a better load rating than the original 160 that came on the Dynas.

From the pics it sure appears you are in need of a new rear tire pretty soon as well. Its a little more difficult to get an exact idea of your tread dept from that pic but it sure looks pretty thin in the middle to me. I also believe in changing mine before they are past their minimum"legal" tread depth. There is no way I would run mine until its slick or even almost slick in the middle. Afterall its my life riding on those two small patches. Post another pic of that same tire at 6500 miles and I bet it will be difficult to feel the center tread with your finger nail. It sure appears that your tire is wearing about the same as alot of guys,....

John
I think you are right John. My tire looked about like Cowboys around 6K, and my buds were saying it looked thin........ Then it went about bald within 1k, then I rode on a prayer 'till 8k (won't do that again).
I always kept my tire inflated to 38-40 lbs, and I only weight ~160lbs w/full leathers on in the rain.
