That does it!!!!!!!! NO MORE WAVING............. From now on I am just going to give everybody the finger, but never the same one. LOL
I wave a lot, to kids on bicycles (they get a kick out of it), people on scooters (they don't know what to think), truckers when I pass 'em at 100+ mph (they seem to appreciate it), pretty girls (who cares what they think), ugly women (only when I am going very fast), all foreign bikes (fugem if they don't wave back), and sometimes other Harleys (at least they look like Harleys), and folks in wheelchairs (they are cruisin, too)...... Oh yeh, always wave at my Mom when I am on my bike (otherwise, I just give her the finger). joking mom.
Sometimes I wave high, sometimes low, a flip of the wrist, a kinda gay wave, a hey-I-am-too-cool wave. and just a nod of the head if I think I am in danger of crashing.
Waving, in general makes me feel better, and sometimes leads to a conversation. Love to talk to non-Harley riders, they have great stories to tell, just like us Harley riders.
Especially like waving to beamers, they think they are special, too............ Just like Harley riders.
You know what I do when I wave at a fellow biker and he sticks his head up and rides on like hes better then me? I make my wave into a glasses adjustment
Wouldn't worry about it..I wave to every bike that goes by me, however some wave and some don't. Just because of one bad apple, I will not let that change who I am
Enjoy the time on the road and the friends you meet
People are people, whether they ride a Harley, metric, moped, or a Porsche. There are lots of a holes everywhere. Let's not get all caught up in what other people think, or whether or not they accept you or wave, etc. I could give a **** who waves to me or accepts me. I ride for me and definitely don't dress or act any different when I ride my bikes. I wouldn't wear a dew rag if my head was on fire, but that's just me, and I don't write anyone off just because they do. On the other hand, I have met lots of decent people, dressed in all different ways, riding all different bikes. I ride a Harley and a Honda CBX, I've had a chopper, and almost any kind of bike you can think of. Right now I'm building a Prostreet to drive the **** out of it. Either way, don't ride for them, ride for you. P.S. I you want to really meet a bunch of douchebags, try joining the Corvette Forum or just about any car club that thinks they're exclusive. I hate to generalize, but I would have to say, 50% of those people are losers.
This has been really fun, was laughing my **** off the whole time I was writing it. The whole point was or is, that I know that I'm cool. Just not too cool to wave or acknowlage my fellow riders. I don't have to be a clone, poser or anything else to really enjoy my Harley. I bought it for me. Because, after all, it's all about me.
I'm not commenting on this at all....(We've Been There ..Done That Too Many Times....) But..would like to say.... CONGRATS...BOXJOINT TO YOU AND YOURS........
Took me a second to realize what you were referring to.
Thank you.
The wedding went well!
silver bullet
-i have thought the same thing, then realized the people on this forum have the right attitude. do what you want and dont let strangers ruin your ride.
-i think you are right in that lots of harley riders are puzzled by another harley rider in a full face, etc. racing leather jacket on a warm day, Did a full day ride through new England this summer and had lots of riders do doubletakes at me riding by, there is nothing odd about my WG, if some riders think you need to wear a certain uniform then who cares. life is too short
