I just purchased a complete set of all components to convert my 2011 Fat Bob to mid controls from a forum member here n HD Forums.
Including both primaries and all other parts, $250 shipped.
I will do the work myself.

I think thats the way i gotta go, and just keep my fingers crossed i dont need to use my warranty..ive had quite a few new bikes over the years ,and only ever had to have warranty work once on a KTM when the clocks kept misting up.So i guess i,ll take a chance if i can find the parts at a good price, but im still gonna make sure its the bike i really want with another 2 hour demo ride...
Thats the way i would like to go, im getting my local Dealer to work out a price for having Mid controls fitted on a new Fat Bob, the guy told me to get ready to drop my pants and bend over because its gonna be painfully expensive....
Don't know if your dealer would go for it,but i wanted trade my 07'FXD for an 11'Fatbob,but only if the FatBob had mids,so he swapped the Mid set-Up on a new StreetBob in the Showroom for the Forwards on the FatBob,total cost $350,if he wants to do a deal you may do better,it's worth a shot.
The Fat Bob rocks! I'd at least try the forward controls for awhile before changing out - they do sort of give your body a forward "bend" when riding, but it gives the bike a nice cruiser feel. Anyway, just my opinion - I do a lot of riding in Western Maryland in the mountains (Ok, more like foot hills to those of you who live near real mountains) and even with the forward controls, the bike handles great in the twistys, and then handles just as great cruising around town.
Even though I'm going to catch some heat for saying this on a Dyna Forum, I'm really a big fan of the Softail Fat Boy, especially as a cruising bike, and I almost pulled the trigger on a new one this summer. I was hesitant on the Fat Bob's dual headlight set up and bobtail fender, which has taken a little while for me to get used to. Now, I know I made the right decision getting the Fat Bob. I get lot's of compliments whenever I park, and it seems to be a great balance between a "cruiser" and a "performance" bike. As for the body position, I changed to a C & C LoPro solo seat, which has made a huge difference in the ride. I read on a previous forum someone said when you ride the Fat Bob, it feels like your sitting inside the bike as oppossed to just sitting on top - I couldn't agree more. Enjoy and ride safe!
The Fat Bob won't disappoint you. I used to ride rice burners in a past life and I tried different HD models. IMO it is The best handling HD at the moment and is capable of more than people can imagine.
The Fatbob is a great bike to ride, I had the mid-controls put on from new, costs is around Ł1200 so it hurts a lot on the purchase of a new bike. The only issue I have had with warranty was a warped front disc I discovered two days before the waranty expired.

Thats a lot of money on top of the price of the bike...I would have wanted to order V+H Pipes, a Joker Machine AC and a tuner , but there,s no way i can do it all in one hit, and im guessing the pipes will be different for Mid controls...At this rate i,ll still be paying for my Fat Bob in 10 years time
