also getting better mpg a noticeable increased in mid-range power
Around town mileage 45 on the highway at 80 mph close to 50mpg, the same as my friends Yamaha 1100. we fill up and take close to the same on our 200 mile plus cruises.
Well got them in the mail Friday and installed them Sunday morning...but it rained all day long.....so maybe a chance to ride today...if the weather clears up. All in all it was a 10min job. I went ahead and on the front cylinder I removed the front plastic deal that holds the connections and drilled 2 small holes in it to zip tie the new connector. I like it to look clean. Looking forward to the ride and I will report back with results.
Got to go and pick up the bike at lunch...but really can't tell a difference with the cooler weather today (not a very long ride either). But hope to get a bit more riding time tomorrow!
Already had the X14ied's on the Sportster, so I pulled them off and installed on the 96". Runs and accelerates smoother, no more low speed surging, can't tell any difference in heat as the bottom of my right thigh still cooks. Gas mileage seems the same, about 45-50.
Is only about a 10 minute job to swap ied's between bikes, and since I can't ride both at the same time, saved me extra $100 by using the X14's on both engines.
On another note, damn that big twin is SO much quieter than the clattery valvetrain on the Sporty. I can actually hear the exhaust rumble. It's not competing with the valve clatter like the 2into1 does on the Sportster.
