I had these on our 07'FXD,they made a noticable difference in general running better in every way(don't know about fuel consumption),on a standard bike, haven't fitted them to the FXDF yet, waiting till after the first service.
BSL,any further ride reports on the windscreen(buffeting etc.)

Hey Tnbrit,

I have left the shield at the lowest setting (I can get it to without altering the mount) for now and it's been very nice! I have taken a few rides (short..40miles) and it's been very nice! Slight buffeting on the windy days (Oklahoma winds)...but other than that I am very pleased! Bopped it up to 95 and 100 for a little bit and it was very stable and smooth!

Already had the X14ied's on the Sportster, so I pulled them off and installed on the 96". Runs and accelerates smoother, no more low speed surging, can't tell any difference in heat as the bottom of my right thigh still cooks. Gas mileage seems the same, about 45-50.
I don't think that will get you as much fuel as the XEID's will. One was really made for the sporty and the other the dyna. I was riding in 100 degree weather when I first put them on my dyna and really noticed the temp drop right away. The performance seems to get better after you ride it for a few hours and the EFI readjust...or at least it seemed to.

I just installed the Xied's yesterday and I put only a few miles on the bike today. Seems like it runs good but at a loss of a little power. Maybe running too rich? I dunno. I have a stock set up and is it ok for me to change the A/C and keep the stock pipes?

You shouldn't lose any power even with no mods. I would take it for a longer ride so the EFI adjust out more. You can do A/C only with no problem. Did you notice the cooler running motor?

It didnt feel much coolers. but thats only judging by feel. I dont have an oil temp gauge.

Maybe im just thinking its got less power. Im going to order a A/C soon and hope that peps it up even more till I can get pipes and a set of cams

You fat bob owners will still get a lot of heat with the slip ons since you will still have the cats....
Unless your Fat Bob is an '08 or '09.... No steenkin cats in those bikes.

I have an 06 FXD, it has slipons,
What do the xeid's actually do?
Would it be worth fitting to mine, only experience I have with EFI, is I had a SE tuner fitted to my 48, as I was told by the dealer I had to have it fitted as I fitted a Heavy Breather aircleaner.
Thanks

To my greatest understanding the Xieds tell the ecm the bike is running lean and it needs to be richened.

stock AFR is 14.6 i think and the xieds tell the bike your running at 15.6 or something like that and the ecm wants 14.6 so it corrects it self and then would actually be running 13.6

those were just made up figures to help make my point.

hope im right

I have been told you can only use them if your bike has O2 sensors in the exhaust?
Is this correct ?
Will have to check if mine has them as it's a 2006 model
