Default How high can I go with handlebars on a stock 08 Street Bob

Hey all,
Just wondering for those of you who have made the handlebar switch on an 08 Street Bob what's the max height I can reach without swapping the cables out? I'm putting a new triple tree on without the integrated risers and I measured those to add about an inch of lift. Add that to the stock 10" bars and I'm guessing from the base of the new triple tree I have between 11 and 13" of cable to work with. I figure if I get two inch risers I can go with 11" custom apes, but I'd like to go as high as 12" apes so I don't have to get them custom made. Just don't want to buy them and then realize the cables won't reach. Anybody have any experience or suggestions? Thanks!

Some have gone as high as 14" with stock. Your results may vary.

12-13" for sure, 14-15" depends on shape, I have 15" Z-ape use stock cables and brake line, no problem.

Make sure the 11 or 12" bars are the ones you really want. Would suck to find out after a few rides that you want to go higher and then have to replace both cables and bars.

Another set of 15 inchers here. I moved the clutch cable to the right down tube, moved the front brake line around till I was happy and took the 90° bends out of the throttle cable. Oh and got rid of the idler cable.

15's would probably be the tallest I would go with stock cables.

those throttle cables aiming straight down don't look all that great to me , why not just swap them out for longer ones ?

Why, Just because the 90° bend is not there?? IMO No matter what the cable/s are going to be seen, whether it drops straight down where it's at now or on the inside of the bars. I just didn't feel the need too swap, it's worked great for 2 years and I can tuck the cable closer to the frame still if I wanted too.

Less chance of binding too without the 90° bends.

Because ppl see most bikes have 90 degree bend, it is right in their heads. I don't see a problem with a straight one either, it works just fine.
