Default 2011 wide glide shocks

Want to lower the back end of my 2011 wide glide. Reading all the threads about bottoming out, fender hitting caliper, belt guard hitting, foot peg mount hitting. Anyone have shocks on their wide glide that lower it without any problems?

While they all think through how to answer your question, allow me to offer a suggestion! I have a SuperLow Sportster, which I have recently upgraded, to improve ride comfort. I live in the UK and contacted a shock company (Hagon), who advised me on how to avoid all the things you just mentioned, including making sure nothing moving hit any part of the frame.

So I suggest you contact the usual shock firms and ask them your question. If they can't give you a good answer try someone else. Be aware that to achieve what you want you may not be able to lower your bike very much.

I just put 11" shocks on mine love the look, ride is great have not riden 2 up yet but from what I have read it should be fine with the shock set at stiffest setting. I love the look and being a short guy I feel more comfortable as well. I say go for it, if you lower the front too you will need to shorten the kickstand I would bet tho, mine sits more straight up now but its still safe from tipping over. I don;t go crazu on corners so I am not concerned about hitting things. Fender is close to upper belt gaurd but I think if it hits it will have to be a good size bump, also its the belt guard hitting everonce in a while I am not to worried about it but I donlt think it will be a major issue of hitting much anyway.
