01 fxdx are going for 9K plus here... and they're rare.
Where are you located? There is one place here in NJ that has had a T-Sport for sale for a while. It has somewhere up around 30,000 miles, but they were only asking $6,999. They currently have a FXRT for the same price. Look them up and try other places outside your area. The Cycle Exchange in Andover, NJ.

Nice, what year? Is the yellow a factory color? Looks like the bars have been raised, I see it has the little storage box beside the battery and bags. Any other mods beside the exhaust?

I found the FXDX prices always high. 1st they don't seem to come up that often. I looked for many months and I only found 4 for sale in Washington, Oregon and Northern CA during that time so it can be a seller's market if the owner isn't pressed to sale it quick. It takes time or increasing your search area.
Condition and/or history is important.
For me, I found my 2000 FXDX for $8K. It had only 9100 miles and had serveral options which are hard to find now. Also the engine was built to 95 with S&S 585 direct drive cams, 10.5:1 pistons, high compression heads, 44mm carb, racing clutch, SE ignition, mag wheels. What sold it for me (the price was higher than I wanted) was knowing the mechanic who built the motor and discussing it with him. The original owner bought the bike from the same dealer I use back in Dec 1999 and they had the complete history of it. The mechanic who built the bike is still there and knows the owner and the bike.
The local Honda shop has a 2003 100th vivid black FXDX on their lot. It's damaged (tank dented on both sides, front turns broken and primary cover scratched up) and they want $6999 firm. It has $28K miles also. Its been 3 months and they have not moved... Go figure.
I'm looking at a 99 FXDX. The guy is asking $5k, it has 39k miles. The seller said the motor was rebuilt at 36k miles but doesn't have any paper work. Also said it has a 211 se cam. It appears to be in really good condition despite mileage. I took it for a test drive felt really squirly not sure if it's bad tires or low tire pressure. I think it has been mostly sitting for last couple years. Is $5k a good price?
I checked kbb and nada they both quoted around $5500 retail for excellent.
