+1 for haulin ***... i have this for the rare passenger. it as easy as removing the 2 up seat... but i did end up kicking off the haulin *** backrest pad, kinda cheapo, i installed a harley backrest pad instead. its much nicer than the haulin *** pad.

Haulen *** seems cool, but for $250 I could just do the HD QD set up and still have money left over.

and you can notch your current plates for free(unless you do not own a dremmel or other cutting tool). Notch the current plates, if it is not what you are willing to live with, then choose either the quick detach plates and hardware or perhaps haulin *** if your willing to pay for it. I looked at it as I can either buy new detachable plates and hardware, or for a tad bit more money, get a haulin *** backrest. The haulin *** is a nice custom style backrest vs the standard cookie cutter ugly looking harley detachable stuff. The detachable sideplates are much uglier than the permanent style plates you have. The Haulin *** looks better than both and is incredibly functional too.

you will also have the ugly qd hardware left over when you remove your sissy bar.

I had the detachable backrest first. I just hated the way the harware stayed on the bike. I do have detachable saddle bags (ghost brackets) also, that hardware isnt nearly as big and ugly as the harley stuff. Plus when i had both the hd and ghost brakets the mounts stuck out a good 1.5-2". I ditched the hd qd, went with haulin *** for the backrest.

Ha! I did a quick 5 minute photoshop job of the photo on page 1 (messy in spots but you get the idea). Erased the seat and sissy bar. Shaved down the tail light and license plate mount and removed the red reflector on the sideplates. Looks a million times better. Funny what a huge impact these minor changes make...
