Transmission grind
Good job anylizing the problem, and having a MoCo shop that is willing to stand in your corner.
Annnnd another thing. While they are in there, ask them to take a look at your stator/rotor assy. the '06 DYNAs are notorious for coming apart! (2 piece housing, bolted together, bolts come loose...not good!)
There's a cheep fix for that as well, or do like I did...convince them to "throw that in" with the other work.
One more thing to think about... My new Trans. case came with a new 6th gear and front drive pully (sprocket). So....if your final drive belt is marginal this would be a golden opportunity to replace it! (Save yourself a buttload of $$ as compared to doing by itself at some point down the way.)
Had I known that in advance... I would have..My Superglide is way higher miles than yours!
Glad it worked out for ya...and by the way.....nice lookin scoot, man.
Best wishes...Tim(HT)

Ugh...
so the other day I was riding like normal and I thought I heard a small grind. I couldn't tell where the sound came from, especially with my V&H exhaust.
So this past weekend I put the stock exhaust on. The sound is coming from the transmission. and it seems to get really loud when I make a right hand turn.
It is an 06 Street Bob with 73000 miles on it. I have done all the maintenance myself and regularly change all fluids at each 5000 mile interval.
I really have not torn apart a transmission and I'm hesitant to do so.
Are there any obvious things that I can look for or do to isolate the problem?
i got the MOCO to pay for repairs....but it will cost me $100.00 for administration and disposal fee. i talked to my service guy and asked why the hundred bucks...all he said is that the MOCO wants it for administrating the repairs. Man I was pissed....but my wife said it best.
"Shut the Hell Up!! You are getting over 3,000 dollars of work done for 100 bucks."
Well I guess i shouldn't complain.
Dealer said the bike will be ready to roll in about 5 days since they had to order all the parts.
I wanna thank everyone on this forum. With you I would be stuck on the side of the road ... pissed off!!
