I appreciate all the suggestions. I ordered the Midwest Chrome Cobra II Headlight from easternperformance.com
I see that the OEM headlight has 3 wires; black, white and yellow. The new head light has 2 yellow and red.
Can someone help me out as to which ones get spliced together?
Thanks in advance
Mike
The missing wire is the ground wire as the light is internally grounded. Bolting it to the bike grounds it. I forgot which color is low and which is high, but a quick flip of the switch while holding the light will show you. Also, if you swap the light to a brighter bulb as I did, that front retaining ring actually unscrews. Its not pushed or popped in with clips, its threaded. It baffled me at first, but with advise from the forum, I figured it out.
Same light from the same place... I needed a longer mounting bar as this light is pretty long.
Also, I used the stock Harley light/lens with a Silverstar Ultra bulb. A direct fit, once I figured out the trim ring screws on.
You cant go wrong with this Headlight. The price is right and the quality is there. That SilverStar bulb is also another good idea. I have them in my ATV also.
I love all the pics with the various lights. The headlamp I got fits without the bracket but I'm tempted to get a mounting bar to make it protrude like yours. I have similar drag bars so that's the look I was originally after.
I'll post pics after the weekend.
Thanks to everyone for helpful info.
