Trans. Pulley Spacer Stuck
I needed to replace the trans pulley on my 2000 WG and after pulling the inner primary case I found that the pulley had come loose and thank God the locking ring did its' job! I will be replacing all the seals bushings and any bearings needed, but my issue is this:
After removing the pulley & the oil seal, I cannot get the spacer to slide off the splines. Never had this happen before. I tried with a large pair of channel locks but no luck. There is zero visible damage to the splines & there is zero visible signs of any trans oil leaking either.
So before I go prying around on anything and risk damaging the main output shaft bearing I am looking for some input. Is it possible that the seal created by the oil between the two machined metal faces is that strong? Or maybe the quad seal is caught up under the spacer?
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

the hd shop loaned it to me
think i just got lucky but it is worth asking them
you definatly need it to press it back on
my race actually drifted in and i could not get the puller behind it so mine came off with a cut off wheel and yes it made me pretty nervous
Thx.
i have not ever removed the oil seal behind the pully but my book shows it as an oil seal then retaining clip, bearing then a spacer, but i mine is an 06
