Default Ignition Module Question

I completed the hydraulic cam tensioner upgrade on my '01 Wide glide. In the process I put in a set of SE 203 cams. I'm running V&H Bigshots, SE A/C, and a re-jetted carb. The bike runs great and mods done so far seem to have woken her up nicely. As I warm her up, I've noticed a bit more of a fuel smell and that got me to thinking about engine timing. At what point do you need to think about putting in an adjustable ignition module? What are the criteria for doing so? Do you folks generally put in a higher output coil and wires when you change the module?

Sorry about all the questions and thanks in advance,

Dave

Higher output coil and wires aren't necessary and you won't need a different ign module but fitting one will give it better advance curves and that lets you make better use of the power you have by making it a bit sharper.

Thanks for the input. I guess I should make it clear that the fuel smell is from the exhaust. The pipes, A/C, and carb jets were in the bike when I got it. I did not notice any fuel smell in the exhaust at that time. After I did the tensioner update and cam is when I started to notice a bit more odor when at idle as I warm it up in the garage. My first thought that it must be from the cam as it is allowing more air and fuel in. That got me to thinking about timing and I was wondering if with the new cam set up, I needed to change the timing a bit.
