I have an '09 fatbob on which I am installing a stg II 103" big bore kit w/ 255 cams. I am just looking for a little help so I don't screw up anything.
I am reinstalling the rockers. I have the piston at TDC. When I took it apart the rockers sat flat on the rocker box with bolts out and the piston at TDC. Now when putting it back together they do not.
I am thinking that with the stock cams both valves were closed at TDC and w/the 255's both valves will be partially open at TDC, due to the overlap at this point. Is this correct?
If so, do I just evenly tighten the bolts down while the rockers push the valves open?
Yes, regardless of the cam change your lifters also expanded when the pressure on them was released. They'll bleed back down when you install the rockers after a few minutes.
