not the most mechanical guy. just wondering what some of you who might think about what the increased compression of this kit will do to the longevity of the motor. would expect that the moco wouldnt put together a kit that wasnt decent but what do i know. kit number is 27513-08B.
Sry. Its currently stock with a stageI. I have the stage 3 kit gonna use the stock heads and the kit. Just wondering if the high compression will affect the longevity of the motor over say a stage 2 kit. I know thats more of a top end kit
Well not sure exactly with a stage 4 kit. I left the bore and stroke alone on mine and went with cams and SE CNC heads (although the heads were modified) and I am putting out triple digits in the HP & Torque just by doing that.
These motors are great if they are allowed to breath.
The kit install will depend on how it is installed. Out of the box it is just bolt on stuff, on the other hand if it is tweaked it will give you everything its worth, and that depends on the machinist/mechanic doing the work.
I would look into flowing the heads to let this kit breath.

Your riding habits will affect longevity more than any parts Harley will sell nowadays...make sure it's properly assembled and fully warmed up before you "get it on"...not like some jerks I see who hit the starter button, then roar away from the parking lot like someones impressed. Also, I don't know if there's an adjustable rev limiter in the Harley kit; I have my S&S IST set at 6000 'cause there ain't no point in spinning 'er higher...but be warned your heading down an addictive path
