Default 2010 FXDWG - Rear Fender

Hello,

New member here... I bought a 2010 Wide Glide a few months ago. So far I have added a Mustang 2UP seat, windshield, Brawler solo seat, V&H exhaust, grips and a few cosmetic items. I plan to make this more of a solo barhopper.

I would like to make the rear-end look more custom (slammed look), lower and fatter. I want a rear fender that is much closer to the tire and a chopped look. I was wondering if anyone can share ideas on how to do this?

Also I would like drag bars, anyone running them with a 10 or later WG?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome. Haven't seen too many chopped wide's. I do love the wide glides, nice looking bikes.

If you want the fender closer to the tire you have to drop the bike. Im looking into this for my next mod.

I'm thinking about the Burley Slammers to drop it.

Also looking into drag bars. I called my local dealership and they are saying it would cost anywhere from $850 to $1200 to install the bars (thats total with parts). So I think I'll be looking elsewhere or just doing it myself. Hate to spend that much money if the bars are only $200 bucks.

A lot of people on here are chopping their rear fender too. It looks good. Im not sure I'd do it unless I had a spare one to mess around with. I dont have good luck with things like that.

HD Street Slammers with 1" extensions.

For fat and low, there is a 240 kit available (from a forum vendor?).

Hello DBuggy, I lowered my bike with the burly slammer front and back kit. It really helps the look as far as bringing the fender down to the tire. My handle bars are Wild 1 chubby chrome drag bars and my risers are the same as the HD deluxe pull back risers. You can check out my profile for some more pics in my photo albums. Any questions just ask.

I think Heartland is a sponsor http://heartlandbiker.com/_product_1..._Chrome_Struts
If not, you can get it from Dr. VTwin.

gtsouth, are those 1 1/4" bars that use 1" risers? How does the width compare to the stock WG bars?
