I singing the papers tomorrow on a new switchback and I'm thinking about changing the exhaust, air cleaner and do a street tuner and I've never had a tuner done on a bike before. What should I expect the labor charge from the dealer be to do the tuner?
There are a lot of tuners to choose from and they are only as good as the dyno operator. The best tuner will run you from about 450-650 and the labor will be about 300-400. To me the most important factor is to find a highly recommended dyno operator and talk to him about where you want to go with your bike.
You can also go less money on a tuner with a canned map and try and fine tune it yourself. It all depends on what you want to do and what your budget is.

I suggest asking the mfg. of whatever exhaust system you choose for their preferred dyno guy in your area. They will want for their product to be maximized and it's a safe bet they will lead you to the right guy. good luck and congrats on your new machine!
you can get a PC5 from fuel moto for 300 or so i believe, and PC and or fuel moto have maps they can down load as mentioned above which will be really close for your basic AC and pipe mod unless you are doing a cam i would not spend the money on a custom tune on a dyno as they will charge you at least 4hrs of labor and end result would probably not be much better than the map you could get down loaded for free. And that is not just some yahoo saying that...those are words from my friend who does dyno work and wrenches on HD's for a living! But to each his own. Also it seems like the PC5 and PC3's and also the SE race tuner are by far the most popular and there for should be the best routes to go with as far as service and future tuning needs.
We did the stage 1 and bought the SE race turner for my wifes 2011 streetbob, with the stage 1 and tuner plus the dyno it ran us 1000.00 and she is very very happy with the results, but as already stated, the tuner is only as good as the man tuning it,and we have a very good tech that works on our bikes.
I highly recommend Fuel Moto - ordered their branded tuner, AC, and Vance and Hines exhaust from them as a kit. Did the install myself. Very good price and I am very happy with the results and performance. I can't imagine any increase in performance from a dyno tune to be worth the added cost.
I want to do the FM107" motor build and Cams and when I get the coin (Next winter?) I am going to have them do it and will then invest in a dyno tune....
