I was going to have Dragos do a 107" kit on my Street Bob this winter. I like the info he was able to give me about each build I was thinking about. But I decided to hold off and buy a Street Glide so after I get that I will be bringing it to Frank @ Dragos to build the motor.
That you can as I have learned over the years of tinkering with cars/trucks and bikes. Too much power as in useable on street tires that is, because who wants to run drag radials all the time when you want to have fun. Because just spinning the crap out of street tires and going nowhere gets old and expensive quick
But to the OP I don't think a 107 build is overkill on a Dyna at all. What are you looking to get out of the motor and powerwise goals is what you should be looking at though.
I have a 2010 Superglide with Stage I and I am looking at one of the many 107" kits out there along with talking to my dealer WED about what they offer/recommend.
Is a 107" too much for a Dyna? I want it to be reliable but I wouldn't mind a little more get up and go in the low to mid range.
Not looking to pull wheelies, just
fun.
I have contacted Fuel Moto & Dragos and just looking for some more advice/input....
Thanks for the input in advance.
Jamie
Since I have an SE 120R in my dyna (2006 Street Bob) I wouldn't say a 107 was overkill.
More power in a lighter. Ike is fun. The build you describe should produce good results without sacrificing reliability.
IMO, go for the 107", i dont think the 103" would be any cheaper. The Fuelmoto 107" kit takes the guess work out , you just have to decide which cams and if you want any head/tb work done. Oh ya, get a good tuner also. I like the ThunderMax tuner but there are lots of others.

I exchanged emails with Jamie today, so I am leaning that way. Said I could get 107hp with my current exhaust which I like the idea of. 1HP/CI and I would be happy.
Now I am just waiting for our bonus announcement at work here in a couple weeks.
