HD say that the kit for 04/05 models fits 06/07s but the wiring loom needs to be lengthened 6 inches.
Also change the top bracket to one off an FXDX which is crackleblack finish to match (well at least on Austarlian delivery).
OK so far, but I am not sure if the bezel on the 04/05 tach matches that on the 06/07 speedo. That is, are they both bright chrome or brushed aluminium look.
If it does match, then its easy by the sound of it. If not, then buy the chrome brackets separately and get a tacho with the right bezel separately.
I haven't found the answer to this part of the quizz as yet as I am still waiting for the bike to be delivered!
The only Dyna that had a tach as a stock instrument was the now discontinued FXDX. I put one on my '04 as one of the first additions to the bike and have not regretted it one bit.
I bought the Super Glide specifically because the speedo was not on the tank.
I prefer two round gauges, the same size, side-by-side, on the handlebars, in front of me.
So, my plan was, from the beginning, to install this tach. My dealer tells me that there is a reworked version coming out of this same kit for '06-'07's.
