I am really liking those bars......Sweet bike by the way. So you did need new cables? Or did you just do them because you wanted to switch out the look? I didn't think you would have to do a cable swap with bars like those. Maybe I am wrong though. Any info would be helpful......
Yes I had to order the new cables according to the dealer, just the 2 throttle cables. Everything else stayed stock. The parts guy said they had to order the cables a little longer, dont know exactly how long.
Hey thanks for getting back to me. I might have to look into this now. I am really liking those bars......guess it's time to start saving nickels again.
Just changed bars on my 09 fxdc, 6'' pull back riser with fat drag bars, doesn't really alter posistion but looks great with the thicker bar and wires internal, not changed any cables just a bit re-routing but one word of warning, cover your tank good n proper, i dropped something n chipped paint on tank, fixed now, bike nearly ready for UK spring weather.
sorry got no pics yet, they are HD bars and risers, like i said it doesn't really alter reach maybe slightly closer, they just alter the angle of your hand on the grip from on the angle too straight, i wanted the look more than anything, beef things up a bit. i will put pics on in a couple of weeks , just waiting for flush fit fuel cap n gauge to arrive. ill send pics on to ya if ya like.
nice bike florida dyna. how comfortable are the bars on a long run with mid foot controls? thanks
I rode 250 miles this weekend and no complaints on comfort except for the neck cause I actually wore a helmet for a change and even that wasnt bad. I will tell you that for me they are a lot more comfortable than the stock bars. When I had them I couldn't hardly ride 100 miles before my lower back started to hurt.
I have those same bars. They are the Street Slammers. I just took mine off and I'm putting them up for sale tomorrow. They are extremely comfortable, but I am going for a different look. I am putting a low riser and Night Rod Special bars on. More of a tracker look. Works well with my dual gauge pod. If I had a regular Dyna, I would keep them. If you are interested let me know. They are $270 new, I would sell them for $130+ shipping. I also have the accutronix guage adapter in chrome. It sells for $110 new, but mine has some chrome chipping in areas you wouldn't see. It's also billet aluminum under the chrome. I would sell that for $30 because of the flaking. I can take pics tomorrow.
