i have a 2012 street bob with a thunder header and stock a/c with no tune!!! does this work? ive been told that its fine and have also been told it will ruin my motor. tts master tune hasn't come out with ay tuner for 2012 and the place that does dyno work close to me wont really put on another tuner!!! what should i do? what tuner should i use? any help is much appreciated!!!
you won't have any probems with just your exhaust changed out. Even if you change your a/c the bikes ecm will adjust the air/ fuel ratio so the bike will still run safely, but if you wantto get a little power gain and great throttle response then you will need a tuner and alot of people go with pcV. The best suggestion I can make is to call Jamie at fuel moto first thing tomorrow. i'm not aware of any changes to the ecm from 2011 to 2012 so i imagine the software of a tts or pcV still applies.
I ran slip ons and ac with no tuner for a while and it ran great. Then put on a full system on ran that for a little while and got some pretty good decel popping. Ordered myself a fuel moto powervision and first thing I did was to check what codes my bike was throwing and it had been throwing a lean code, for how long I have no idea.
I cleared it and downloaded my new map, been great ever since and no codes.
I figure if a machine designed to run 14.7-1 afr thought it was running leaner than that, than it mustve been running really lean.
Maybe youll run 100K miles just fine, maybe youll burn it up. I know for $500 my scoot runs way better than before and its great peace of mind for a high dollar ride.
