Tire changer question
Well went out to the shed today and discovered my back tire was flat. Took out my service manual and took the wheel and tire off. Drove twenty miles to the Harley joint and nearly had a heart attack. I had one of those socket head screws in the middle of the tire. The tech wouldn't put a new tube in it unless I bought a new tire for 334.00 dollars. I said wow, i mean wow. Told him I could get two of them at the motorcycle superstore for less than that. So my question is what type of tire changer do you guys have and recommend. Don't want to spend alot of money, but want something that will work. Any suggestions guys. Sorry for the long post, but a little mark-up I can see, but more than twice the price of a new tire, sheeeeze.

Sounds like what your describing is a hex head sheet metal screw. smooth up the inside of the tire and glue a patch where the hole is. Order 2 tire spoons from the superstore and mount it yourself.
