+1 get a service manual as soon as you can. great bike, great choice . Congratulations and welcome to the dyna board. I love sportsters especially the 48 and the new model hd just released . However you cant beat a dyna for long distance comfort and extra power with the 96 and 6 speed transmission. I love that combination.

I plan on adding some FL-XiEDs after the 1,000 mile service as well ('12 model Dynas require the FL-XiEDs due to the new 4 wire O2 sensors like the touring bikes).
I was super happy with the nightrider product on my Sporty & basically had the same set up on it....SE a/c, slip-ons & X14iEDs.

I think you went the right route with everything. You did your homework and asked the right questions, so you will be real happy with it. You will end up changing stuff as time goes on but you got a great start on what you wanted.

I bet you were surprised just how cheep the payment is...

I'm really happy for you but I need to see some pics real soon.

Congrats my friend
Thanks my friend! I know I will be happy with the bike as I have set it up the way I want from the beginning.

I will likely add some FL-XiEDs after the 1,000 mile service & save money for a tuner & dyno sometime in the future. My delaer has a good dyno guy in house, so I'll likely go that route when the time comes if/when I decide to do it.

Yes, I was very surprised how cheap my payment is! I was happy with the deal & my dealer on the trade & financing.

The pic is as it sat on the showroom floor the day I bought it before any accessories were added.

Got a question...the people at my dealer told me to get some mink oil to care for the seat. Everyone in there said they used mink oil on their seats, is that how I should take care of it? Are we talking the paste or liquid & I'm assuming the same stuff I put on my work boots?

I have some Meguire's leather seat conditioner (use it on my wife's car seats) & I also use it on my leater jacket...seems to make it softer and keeps it from drying out. I'm thining about using this.

Any other recommendations?

Mink oil is one of the best things to use on leather. I would also invest in a cover. I don't really cover my bike unless I take it to work. It protects the bike, and if someone wants to f with it and steal stuff in my bags...then they're going to be there awhile. Out of site, out of mind.

The guy I sold my slip ons to actually had someone steal his original slip ons right off of the bike while he was in the bar.

Can you believe that ****?

That bike looks awesome, can't go wrong with all that chrome against the black.

I just got rid of my slip ons and put on the vance and hines 2-1 propipe. I love the way it sounds, the extra power it produces, and even the looks. (never thought I would say that about a 2-1)
I just dropped it off at the dyno tuner, I'm so excited.

Good luck with that bike, you will love it...
