Yes, I was very surprised how cheap my payment is! I was happy with the deal & my dealer on the trade & financing.

The pic is as it sat on the showroom floor the day I bought it before any accessories were added.
Nice bike man

Congrats on the new ride. I also moved up from a sportster. Picked up my SG end of October, haven't done a "long" trip on it (120 max) one way but I can attest the ride is worlds difference from the sportys.

The guy I sold my slip ons to actually had someone steal his original slip ons right off of the bike while he was in the bar.

Can you believe that ****?

That bike looks awesome, can't go wrong with all that chrome against the black.

I just got rid of my slip ons and put on the vance and hines 2-1 propipe. I love the way it sounds, the extra power it produces, and even the looks. (never thought I would say that about a 2-1)
I just dropped it off at the dyno tuner, I'm so excited.

Good luck with that bike, you will love it...

if you use mink oil don't get carried when applying it. it has a tendency to soften leather. be careful throwing your leg over wearing boots with buckles and beers Lol...

Bummer being you! waiting sucks... Congrats ;o)

Really doubt the seat is leather; more likely vinyl which doesn't need any mink oil.

I will try the mink oil...I thought the stock seat was vinyl, but everyone at the dealer think it is actually leather. It does look and feel like leather...the seat seems different than the 2011 I looked at last summer...seems nicer material so maybe it is actually leather.

That's crazy **** someone stealing slip-ons off the bike at a bar! Can't believe the things some people will do. I ride mine to work about every day the weather is descent, but it's in the open and parked in plain sight & nobody here would ever touch it let alone try to steal something off it. A cover would be good though to keep the sun off the bike sitting outside.

Congrats on the pro-pipe! Glad you are happy with it...can't go wrong with a 2-1 set up. Do you notice a seat of the pants power difference?

I decided instead of the download & FL-XiEDs, to go ahead and spend the $ and buy the SE Pro Race Tuner...Gonna have it installed & tuned before I even pick the bike up now. I'm sure I will be pleased with that decision so now whatever mods I do in the future I can tune the bike to match & never have to invest in any other downloads. Money well spent according to almost everybody.

Was asking my sales guy, which is super cool, about breaking in the bike...it was about closing time so all the mechanics & guys that work at the dealership got in on the discussion.
He said "I'm not supposed to tell you this, but don't baby it like the manual says for break-in procedures. Do however vary your speed a lot, but ride it like you're planning on riding it. Get on it hard if you want, and in the long run your bike will have less problems down the road & will make more power".
Everyone there agreed and my sales guy said he has ran every bike he has ever bought new hard right from the first mile and has had 0 problems in any of his bikes. I have had mixed feelings about whether to take it easy or do the motoman method or somewhere in between, now I have made my decision....I'm just going to ride it like I would normally ride.

Don't baby it unless you want a baby bike. Get on it but don't over do. Down shift at higher revs to get back pressure break in. Change oil at 100 miles to get the break in oil out and again at 1000.

Congratulations, man! In my opinion, the SG is the perfect motorcycle. Enjoy!

Sharkman, the only thing I would have done different is to put on the full exhaust instead of the slip ons. I ended up paying twice not doing it from the beginning. Do you realize it's only 200 bucks more? Once you get it tuned you don't want to change anything so maybe it's not too late to go the extra mile. Slip ons are great for noise but don't do a lot for performance.

Congrats on the new SG, in my humble opinion the SG is the quintessential Harley Davidson, I too traded my Sportster last year and have not looked back.
