Got my memphis shades on a 2008 FXD the other day. Couple things: Had to put washers between brackets to bring further out and tach/speedo still hits top so that it just barely clamps on the quick release clamps, hits my mirrors on drag bar so mirrors have to be adjusted each time I remove/put on and one mirror has to adjusted too much (useless). Still have to see how the ride on the highway is and if I should buy a steering dampener at this time (I'm broke at the moment). Just a few observations, not bolt-on for every setup-depends on your bars, mirrors, speedo/tach setup. Looks good though.
i just bought there plain fairing with no stereo and added my own stuff in there, hence why mine cost me over a grand. i also put a 6" wind vest shield on mine. you have to get the one for a road king and modify the brackets to fit your front forks.
I just called Reckless and they said that they would be doing fab a for a SG in June of this year. I asked them if I were to buy one right now which one would it be. Unforntunatley the lady on the phone did not know.
I would really like to get one for my 2011 SG
So, what did you do to modify the brackets to the fit forks. (newbie here)
Thought i'd throw up a couple of shots of our prototype that we took to Arizona Bike Fest and the Laughlin River Run. We got a lot of great feedback while there, and hope to have it finished by Sturgis. (I know that's later than you would like!)
We decided to make it modular, so that you can buy just the outer, or the outer and an optional Full Stereo inner. That way you're not in for the full boat if you're just looking for the look and added protection.
Pricing is still somewhat up in the air. We are usually on the more expensive side, due, in part, to our chosen production methods and materials. We hope to have that nailed down in the not too distant future.
