I kind of like the mini-apes on the wideglide - seem to be comfortable.
Has anyone put these on a lowrider? I am concerned about the clamp holding the idiot lights - may need to go with after market bars with a 1" clamp section.
Anyway, please let me know of any experience doing this, and how the bars seem in the comfort department? Thanks.
I don't know about the change over part, but the comfort of the mini-apes are great. I have been riding a low rider with drag bars for years. I bought a new wide glide last spring and I was kind of concerned about the higher bars. The bars are very comfortable, on a few rides I have gone 3 or 4 hundred miles in a day and comfort was not a problem.
I just put a wide glide front end on my '05 low rider, and had to figure out what to do with the idiot lights also. It's a work in progress, but here's a few pics of todays work... Pics are kind of small but notice the leds between the speedo and tach? Clear like glass when not lit, bright as heck when lit.
I put Wide Glide bars on my 06 SuperGlide right at time of purchase. Being a little taller, I didn't want the lower bars any where near my knees at full turn. My only other thought was to put on the Street Bob bars, but they were almost twice the money. Love what I have.
I'm new to the forum. Last month I bought my 1st HD. I have been riding for over 30 years. I bought an 03 Superglide. My son has an 05 Superglide and although I liked the bike I wasn't comfortable with the stock handlebars. In my quest for a bike, I found an 03 superglide that by chance had the wideglide bars installed by the dealerat time of purchase back in 03. Wow! What a difference the bars made. What a comfortable ride.It took only 1 lap around the lot and I was sold on it. I know its not a low rider but the reach is about the same. You're not stretched out like ape hangers. Ihighly recommend the wideglide bars for a more relaxed ride. As it turns out my son is changing his stock bars to the wideglide bars in the spring.
Oh yeah, nice forum!
