Yeah. I figure if I replace it, might as well do away with that hole.

Prett simple answer. As we all know the twincam outer primary is offset and wider due to the unit motor construction. A lot of aftermarket forwards will fit the setup stock but all aren't created equal. Some are made with more material that will rub or interfer with the cover. That is why they say not with accessory forwards because the stock ones are smaller

late to the party, but I had to change outer primary covers and went with one for the night train. wrinkle black and no hole:

Just wanted to give a shout out to forum member motoexer42! He sold me his outer primary cover that just arrived today. I know you don't know who you are dealing with sometimes and it becomes a matter of trust when you send money and hope for the best.
