The girlfriend stated that if I want her riding with me then I need to do something about the stock Fat Bob seat.
I would really like to go with a solo seat and C&C makes one that I think looks good. What is the passenger pillion like for long rides?
Is the Hd Brawler solo better than stock and is it's corresponding pillion any good?
The mustang looks comfy but rather large.
I went the Mustang route. Went the 2 piece instead of the 1 piece because I wanted the wide solo and the 'standard' pillion as pictured here.
While that seat was waaaay better than the stocker, wifey still got wiggly after a while. After 2 seasons of it, I finally broke down and got her the wide pillion seat. Looks stupid, but she's never been happier. Because it's a 2 piece seat - if she's not with me, that seat thumb screw has the seat off in seconds.
The C&C Sport Tour (I know it's a 2up seat and not a pillon) is awesome. I have one for the GF and she can ride all day on it. Good for me too, but I'm actually fine with my badlander all day as well, the C&C does give me more back support though
If you really want to please the wife and get a great comfortable seat for yourself, get a Corbin Dual Tour. My girlfriend jumps on my bike with that on, she hated the Fat Bob seat and loves the Dual Tour. It's also a seat I can ride all day on, not something I could do with the stock seat. An expensive option I know, but it solves the problem elegantly.
My wife hated the Corbin and I wasn't crazy about it either. Too firm. I have the Mustang vintage wide and we both love it. Mine is a one piece, but you can do a two piece and the large solo does not look bad.
I went with standard width vintage solo, and the wide passenger pillion and wide backrest pad, she loves it and now wants to ride with me all the time.

I have the same set up on my FXDC and I like that I can take off the passenger pillion and my wife loves the seat.
Don't know what your budget is I elected to go the cheap route for now HD wide pillion for now done a 100 mile trips with the better half and so far so good.

Most pillions will be skinny (8-10 inches) Mustang will be 12.5 wide as well as the HD Sundowner and Signature. I have the Signature and large detachable backrest. GF is happy, as am I, much better than stock and 150 less than mustang, Sundowner a good bit less but I wanted the driver backrest.

I went the same route. I am sure there is better out there, but this one is 100x better than stock, and the wife doesnt usually ride for very long anyway...
