Default Cavalry Hard Saddlebags--anyone use them?

I've been eyeing up the cavalry saddlebags for dyna on ebay, also available on their website www.cavalryfiberglass.com I'm thinking about popping for a set and going detachable. Was just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with them, moreso in terms of fitment--they don't have shock cutouts and look to be mounted further rearward to make up for it- does the rear or top view of the bike look weird? Also wondering how sturdy the mounting would be, especially long term, would be looking into something like cycle vision barebacks for mounting, are the provided brackets strong enough, do they bend/ wear out over time?

Also is it just me or does it seem that the smooth finish set looks to be more rounded around the edges, whereas the ribbed finish ones look practically the same as harley bags, but with ribs on the side?

Default Cavalry Hard Saddlebags for Dyna Models

I bought a set for my 07 Dyna Street Bob last summer. I love the look and they are real nice bags. I had them painted Denim Blue to match my bike and they're now on their second paint job after only 1500 miles of riding. I have tried to adjust these mounts everyway possible and just cant keep them from hitting either the axle on the left side of the bike or the shock on the right side. I have placed them all the way back raised them all the way up and to no avail its cost me 400 bucks a pint of paint each time I have painted them. then I paid almost 800 for the bags. Unless Cavalry can come up with a better design for the mounting brackets I would keep looking even though the bags are designed great the brackets suck. Goodluck with yours if you get them!

Default Calvary bags on my Heritage

Looking for a good thread to add my experience and help others considering a set of hard Calvary bags. I just purchased a set for my 2011 Heritage and overall very pleased. Great construction and good look. I have read concerns about the bracket, but seems like they have improved it because the bracket I bought from Calvary is very solid and design much like the lower stock bracket on the Street Glide. It supports the bag from the bottom and attaches to the two points on the fender and again at the passenger foot mount. Seems every bit as solid as it good be. One issue I did have is the sales person assured me they would fit with the stock turn signal bar. Not exactly. I had to use washers to shim out the turn signal bar otherwise the bags did not fit even with all the possible adjustment available with the mounting bracket. Also had to drill out the fender in order for the shimmed turn signal bolts to line up. Once I got past the issue of drilling larger holes in the fender Im satisfied and happy. I would recommend the bags. They look great and when I meet this forums posting standards I will post images.

I've had em for awhile now. Check my sig pic or profile pics. It'll show you look and fitment. I love them. I will say that the locks broke after a week but they sent me out new ones immediately! I give them a thumbs up

Default Photo of the bags installed

I hope my image uploads. I think the bags look great. Thinking on a two-tone paint this winter in the lines of black and bronze, similar to the 2013 color on the Road King.
