My signal light indicators don't work

hahah So I checked the first plug under the speedo for pwr and a ground and I had both. So, just because I had the seat off I checked the plug under the seat for the same and it was good as well. So, then I took a look at the bulbs and noticed that both signal light bulbs were slightly raised. I took them out and they look good so I put them back in and notice that I had to put lots of pressure to seat them. After that they both worked. I guess the last guy didn't seat them properly.
I also, noticed that a pin in the connector was bend off to the side. It's a pink wire and I bend it back so is makes contact but, I'm not sure what it's for.

sorry to bring up an old thread but it may very well have helped with my issue which is that the high-beam indicator lamp stopped working out of the blue, first I'll test the bulb, then I'll go through the steps described here, I'll let you guys know what I find out
