Having grips would be nice for the cooler mornings/evenings, but not so much for the winter. The backs of your hands leave too much real estate to the wind. I went heated gloves (and other gear) and won't look back.

Totally agreed! Forget about heated grips, I have heated demon installed on my previous Fatboy, it's nice in the morning, once you get up to highway speed, cold hands. Remember you knuckles get cold much faster in the wind, get yourself heated gloves instead, plus you can use it on other bike too.

I got grips installed recently, but we have had such a mild winter that I have used them just a few times. One morning it was upper 30's and they were not much help, hands uncomfortably cold. Another occasion when in the 50's they added to my gloves to make my hands comfortable, appreciated having them. The grips get quite warm, but my winter gloves limit how much you feel, want to experiment with lighter gloves. I just didn't the ideal of hooking and unhooking, but on a long cold ride the gloves would be better. But in South Georgia real cold weather is not very common.

Look at the Gerbings site. In particular, check out the Hybrids.

Gerbings Gloves with a Heat Controller and then Pollyheaters for $30 (http://www.pollyheaters.com/ph200.htm) in the Grips . . . You will NEVER turn these Pollyheaters on High. Between these two, they don't make weather cold enough.

I have the HD head gloves and liner, and holy crap it's like wearing a freakin electric blanket. Gerbings makes them, anyways they transfer from bike to bike, just a thought...
