You use the penny to scrape the rubber off. Copper is softer than chrome, so it wont scratch.
Just use a new penny

I tried to get shoe goo off the pipes with everything, WD40, Goo gone, Harley polish, didn't work. Let the bike warm up and sprayed on oven cleaner. Bingo. Worked like a champ.

Wanna know a cool trick? Take that can off over cleaner and spray it on some tin foil and wad it into a ball, it causes a chemical reaction and starts to smoke and burn the foil. It's actually a trick you do to your freind. You come outside with the foil already sprayed and wadded up and bet him $20 he cant hold it for 15 minutes. hehe...

An old and cheap Finnishway for removing boot burns from pipe/s: Take a piece of sugar(lump of sugar?). Spit on a sugar and then scrub it on the boot burn. It will all come of very easily. I didn't belive this when I heard from this for the first time, but it really works!

I have used Blue-Job, made in USA at Glass Restoration Specialists, 4040 Tyler St, Tacoma, WA 98409. I purchased mine from Joetta's Leather in Mesa, AZ for $8.99 plus tax. It worked really well and did not take a lot of rubbing and the chrome looked fantastic afterwards. Hope this helps

Once I melted my tennis shoe into a set of stainless steel Supertrapps. Now the SS isnt polished like chrome,it has a burnished finish on it.I heated the pipes with a heat gun,and used a polish ball from Meguires in an electric drill with Flitz metal polish. It even took the gold tint off the stainless steel.Worked great.
