Primary cover gasket should be replaced when you disturb the joint. Also ensure both inner primary and primary case gasket sealing areas are cleaned and free of any nicks or burrs. If you see a nick on the gasket sealing area, hit it with a sharpenin

Change the gasket is the best bet. Make sure the gasket sealing areas are clean.

I've re-used my primary on the '13 at least three times. I have a spare gasket hanging in the garage. I clean the surfaces on the primary case and pri. cover and dry/inspect the metal gasket for tears or deformaties prior to installation. Torque the screws as required in the service manual. I do not have leaks. The primary is not pressurized, it's a splash pan for the chain and clutch and what ever hits the stator/compensator. Do you feel lucky. Do you?
